Historic Home Renovation

This charming home, originally constructed in 1955, underwent a thoughtful expansion and renovation in collaboration with the architect to enhance both the living space and functionality. We expanded the footprint of the home by framing in the existing two-car garage, creating additional square footage to accommodate out-of-town guests. The new guest suite is a welcoming retreat, featuring a full bedroom and bathroom, complete with a walk-in, tiled shower for a luxurious touch.

The original kitchen was small and cramped, but by expanding the home’s footprint, we were able to create the spacious chef's kitchen the clients desired. The new layout includes a long island that serves as the heart of the kitchen, perfect for both cooking and gathering. A dedicated wet bar area was also incorporated, ideal for mixing drinks, along with a cleverly concealed cabinet space for the coffee maker, keeping the area neat and organized.

The expanded space also allowed for a beautifully designed mudroom and drop zone, featuring playful green hues, custom wallpaper, and floor-to-ceiling built-ins that provide ample storage. The large laundry room, now a functional and bright space, was another key addition that elevates the home’s livability.

Maintaining the original style of the home was a priority throughout the renovation. The kitchen showcases full inset, painted custom cabinetry, while the high-end appliance package from Sub-Zero and Wolf caters to the clients' passion for cooking. Throughout the main level, we seamlessly incorporated one-and-a-half-inch wide hardwood staves, ensuring a consistent, elegant flooring finish that ties the new and original spaces together.

The countertops are made of quartz, and a custom tile backsplash serves as a stunning focal point, adding both texture and visual appeal to the kitchen.
