What types of projects do you specialize in?We focus on high-end, large-scale renovations, additions, overbuilds, and custom home builds. Our typical projects are highly customized and tailored to discerning homeowners who value craftsmanship, design, and long-term value.
-
What areas do you serve? We serve the greater Charlotte and Lake Norman regions, with most of our work concentrated in Charlotte—specifically Myers Park, Cotswold, SouthPark, and Providence Plantation. Around Lake Norman, most of our work is concentrated out Brawley School Rd in The Point as well as Cornelius in The Peninsula.
-
What is your typical project size? Our projects generally range from $300,000 to $2 million+, with custom homes and complex whole-home renovations often exceeding that.
-
Do you offer design-build services?Yes — We offer a collaborative design-build experience, which we believe is the best path to a successful project. We strongly encourage early alignment between the builder, architect, and interior designer to ensure your vision, budget, and timeline stay on track from day one. We work closely with a curated roster of top-tier architects and interior designers, and our preconstruction retainer includes coordination with these design professionals throughout the planning and development phase.
-
Do you provide cost estimates or ballparks before design? We begin every project with a discovery call to understand your vision, walk through similar past projects, and give you a rough idea of what a project like yours could cost. While we’re happy to provide high-level guidance, an accurate estimate requires a fully defined scope and detailed selections—which takes time, collaboration, and planning. For that reason, we don’t offer free detailed estimates. Instead, we invite clients to engage with us through a Preconstruction Retainer, which includes comprehensive budgeting, scheduling, value engineering, and coordination between builder, architect, and interior designer.
-
What is the Preconstruction Retainer, and why is it necessary? The Preconstruction Retainer is a formal agreement that allows us to begin the detailed planning phase of your project. During this time, we collaborate with you, the architect, and the interior designer to define the full scope, make material and finish selections, and align the design with your budget. We explore multiple pricing options where needed, provide realistic scheduling, and offer value engineering insights to ensure clarity and confidence moving forward. This upfront investment helps eliminate surprises and sets the foundation for a well-executed build.
-
Do you help with design or selections during preconstruction?Yes — As a design-build firm, we guide our clients through the entire design and planning process. Depending on your project goals, we assemble the right team of architects and interior designers to bring your vision to life. Throughout preconstruction, we coordinate closely to ensure every selection aligns with your budget, schedule, and overall design intent. This collaborative approach eliminates guesswork and ensures your project is fully dialed in before construction begins.
-
How do I know my project is a good fit for Revival Construction? If you're looking for a builder who prioritizes craftsmanship, communication, and client experience—and you're planning a large renovation or high-end home—you’re likely a great fit.
-
Do you offer financing or assist with loans? We do not offer in-house financing. However, many of our clients work with banks or financial institutions that specialize in renovation or custom home construction loans. We encourage you to speak with your financial advisor or lender early in the process to understand your options and secure financing that aligns with your project timeline and goals.
-
Do I need to move out during a large renovation?Yes — for large-scale renovations and additions, we do require that clients move out of the home. This allows us to maintain safety, streamline the workflow, and condense the construction timeline as much as possible. During this time, we keep you fully in the loop with daily job site updates, including photos and notes, delivered through our project management platform. You’ll have 24/7 access to the schedule, updates, and messaging — so even when you're off-site, you’ll always feel connected and informed.
-
Do you help with finding land or evaluating it before purchase? We ask that clients acquire land before engaging us. Once you have acquired the property, we can assess how it fits the design and construction needs.
-
How long does a project usually take? That depends on scope. Large-scale renovations and additions often take 5–8 months, while custom homes typically take 10–14 months after the pre-construction phase. We provide timeline projections and schedule tracking through Buildertrend.
-
How will I stay informed during construction? You'll receive daily logs with photos via Buildertrend. You’ll have 24/7 access to your project schedule, progress, and messages all in one place. If you're traveling or not living in the home, you won’t miss a thing.
-
How are your projects priced? We use fixed-price contracts. Before construction begins, we work with you to finalize selections and scope so the pricing is locked in—no hidden surprises.
-
Do you charge for change orders?Yes. Any changes after the contract is signed require a formal change order, which includes revised pricing and schedule updates. Everything is documented and approved before work begins.
-
Are you licensed and insured?Yes—we are fully licensed and insured in North Carolina, holding an unlimited general contractor license, which allows us to work on both residential and commercial projects. We specialize in premium residential work.
-
What sets you apart from other builders? We specialize in custom home builds and large-scale residential renovations and additions that require a high level of detail. Whether we are designing a brand-new custom home or restoring the unique character of a historic property, we focus on creating seamless, purposeful designs that align with the original intent of the home while enhancing its overall aesthetic and functionality.
-
Can you work with my interior designer or architect?Absolutely. We love collaborating with talented professionals. Clear roles, mutual respect, and shared goals make for the best outcomes.
-
How far in advance should we contact you?For large projects or custom builds, reach out at least 6-8 months before your ideal start date. Pre-construction planning takes time, and we want to ensure proper scheduling.
-
What kind of warranty do you offer? We offer a 1-year warranty on workmanship, plus extended warranties on major systems and materials as provided by manufacturers. That said, we’ve been known to swing by a past project 3+ years later just to tighten a cabinet hinge or tweak a door—because let’s be honest, we get a little attached to our work (and our clients).
